About

MARE SPUMANS is a small virtual gallery to showcase my current work. I mostly use acrylic, interior paint and photography to give form to visions. I am influenced by the vast landscapes of America and wish to reveal stories that lay hidden in nature.

I want the shapes I work with to keep their secret. In a time of quick answers, I look for more questions.

* Mare Spumans (from Latin: ‘foaming sea’) is a lunar mare: a dark, large, basaltic plain on Earth’s Moon formed by ancient volcanic eruptions. Early astronomers mistook them for actual seas, hence the name.
